Penguin Party

Well, we have had a very exciting week or so. My mom and dad came into town the weekend of Mackenzie's birthday party and we had a lot of fun with them. Then we had her much anticipated penguin party on the 25th. Then, on her birthday, we were hit with an ice storm. It knocked out our power from tuesday until friday. We spent one night in a hotel because our gas fireplace was emmiting a lot of nasty fumes. The next day we came home and opened some windows while the fireplace burned off the "new" smell, which was not dangerous, just annoying. After that we were able to stay at home, cooking on a camp stove outside and playing games by candlelight. I don't think I've ever been so excited to do laundry or run my dishwasher on the day the power came back on. My mom was also in town all week, so we had quite the adventure. Yesterday we took her to Tulsa for her flight home, and since we were there we spent the day at the Oklahoma Aquarium. I am going to post some birthday pics, ice storm pics, and some from our trip the the aquarium.

Mackenzie taking a "nap" in the cabinet.
Aubrey somehow got herself under Mackenzie's doll stroller - she is VERY mobile these days, I never know where she is going to end up!

This is one of the typical faces we get when we try and feed Aubrey. She hates solid food unless its puffs - she enjoys those. The doctor thinks she will probably just skip baby food and go straight to table food here in a couple of months.

We went on a VERY long very eventful hike the other day and Aubrey finally fell asleep in the bjorn.

Family pic on the hike.

Kenzie and daddy reading the newspaper.

Mackenzie climbing UP the slide at the park - goof.

Aubrey with her cup.

Here she is working on some puffs - she gets about 1/3 in her mouth and the rest on the floor or in her chair :)

Christmas in the Square

Here is a picture of Mackenzie feeding Aubrey. Aubrey is really not a fan of solid food at this point - when I try and feed her she clamps her little lips shut. But Kenz jumped up on the chair and tried the other day, and she ate for her! So now I let Mackenzie try and Aubrey does so much better for her! She also likes to take the spoon and feed herself, which is just a little on the messy side!

We took the girls to the square the other day (actually for our anniversay - 5 years!). They have an amazing light display, horses, camels, reindeer, even Santa (who Mackenzie calls Samuel). It was tons of fun.
